San Luis Tasting Trail

For a Marketing class, my team and I were assigned to create a printed product for a specific industry while only using one specific printing company, WS Packaging. We were assigned the hospitality industry and chose to narrow it down to wine tasting rooms.

The product we created is The San Luis Obispo Tasting Trail, an exclusive wine tasting trail that highlights outstanding tasting rooms that have been recognized for their hospitality and quality.  This new product gives back to customers for their loyalty. San Luis Obispo Tasting Trail takes the idea of already existing tasting trails in the SLO area, but modifies the idea into an actual product that is for a specific audience sold by WS Packaging to sponsored wineries.  

Over 7 weeks, we conducted surveys, interviews, focus groups, industry research, primary and secondary target market research, created a timeline, marketing collateral, an integrated marketing communications plan, and produced our printed product.

Marketing Objectives:

  • Generate sales and revenue for both WS Packaging and sponsored wineries

  • Opportunity to establish WS Packaging in the hospitality industry 

  • Provides an incentive and memorable experience for tourists in SLO county, increasing retention rates
